If you’re a student admitted for Spring 2026, you will be notified when it's time to make an Orientation account and reserve your Orientation date in mid-Fall 2025.
When reservations open and if you ever have questions about what you need to do before your Orientation session, you can always refer to your New Student Task List, which you can access once you create your Orientation account. Your task list is a list of action items that you need to complete as a new student at the university. These items must be completed BEFORE you select an Orientation date:
Other tasks that must be completed before you attend orientation, but can be completed after you reserve include:
When reservations are open, we strongly encourage students to sign up for the earliest Orientation session that works for them! It is important to note that our reservation system is set up to only show students the Orientation dates that are applicable to them based on their term of entry, their student type, and/or other student data related to admissions status.
Additionally, NSFP will continue releasing Orientation dates on a rolling basis based on demand. We encourage you to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (nsfp@ucf.edu) if you have any additional questions or concerns pertaining to dates and date selection. As Orientation is mandatory and only offered on certain days, it is important to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Pre-Orientation is an online course with information to help you prepare for your transition to UCF and your official Orientation experience. It has sections on:
More information coming soon!
No overnight accommodations are available for any Spring Admit Orientation. Students, families, and their guests attending these events are encouraged to find their own overnight accommodations.
If you are a First Time in College (FTIC) student, you are required to take the Math Placement Test. It should be completed before Orientation, otherwise, issues will occur with academic success coaching.
We understand that some incoming FTIC students may have already earned college-level math credits through accelerated options such as AP/IB/dual enrollment. However, as an FTIC student, according to the University Testing Center (who administers the test) and university policy, you must still take the UCF Math Placement Test.
One example of why this is important is because it’s common for students to change their major after entering UCF. A student may change their major to one that requires higher level math at which time having taken the Math Placement Test will now benefit them. The only section required is the algebra practice test and algebra test. Students will not be required to retake any classes for which they have already earned appropriate college-level math credit. There are no exceptions and there is not an “opt-out” option.
First Time in College (FTIC) Orientation: On Day 1, students must be present from the start of the orientation until the end of Orientation. There will also be optional opportunities we strongly encourage students to engage with in order to get the most from their experience.
On Day 2, students must be present through the Course Registration period of the schedule and until they enroll to their classes with their designated academic college’s Academic Success Coaches. After Course Registration, students must complete the official Orientation Checkout Survey and only then will be allowed to leave.
Schedules coming soon here: https://orientation.ucf.edu/freshman/
Transfer Orientation: Students must be present from the start of the orientation until the end of Orientation, which is Course Registration (enrolling in their classes with their designated academic college’s Academic Success Coaches). After class enrollment, students must complete the official Orientation Checkout Survey and only then will be allowed to leave.
Schedules coming soon here: https://orientation.ucf.edu/transfer/
We strongly encourage students who are interested in changing their major to do so PRIOR to attending Orientation. The reason being: we want to make sure you are meeting with the correct academic college and Academic Success Coach(es) during your session and are registering for the correct classes pertaining to the major you want to pursue. In addition, your major is also associated with a campus: UCF's main campus or Downtown. Each campus has partial or full Orientation programming on their respective campuses, so we want to ensure you go the right place on the right day!
To change your major, follow the directions here: https://registrar.ucf.edu/change-of-major/
Please note that major changes are not processed immediately and can take some time. In order to see the Academic Success Coach(es) of your NEW major at Orientation, your major change must be processed at least three (3) days prior to your Orientation date. We strongly encourage you to begin this process as early as possible.

Of course! We offer an optional Family & Guest Orientation program for all family members, guests, or supporters who would like to attend.
The Family & Guest Orientation is a separate but simultaneous program that will take place on the same day(s) and general times as students' Orientation and provides family and supportive others the opportunity to learn from and ask questions of university staff and administrators, current students, and other families.
An official reservation is required and limited for this programming and can be done when a student is making their own Orientation session reservation. Additionally, all attendees of the Family & Guest Orientation must pay an Orientation cost.

Yes! While the Family & Guest Orientation program is designed for adult support systems of students, we know sometimes it is hard to find childcare and siblings might need to join. Anyone ages 10 and above will need to pay the Family & Guest Orientation cost, but anyone under the age of 10 is free to join. If you choose to bring a sibling/child who is 10 years or older, please make sure your student adds them to their official Orientation reservation.
UCF’s Family & Guest Orientation is offered for support systems of both first time in college (FTIC) and transfer students. The program for each is centered around providing parents, families, and guests important information about UCF’s processes, policies, and campus resources. You will have time to meet university staff, ask questions, and tackle any “to-do” list items before your student begins classes at UCF.
The separate but simultaneous program will be structured around various presentations and group conversations, all related to setting you and your student up for success as you begin the transition to the UCF family.
Yes, UCF offers an in-person Family & Guest Orientation that is separate but simultaneous to the student Orientation program. Spring Admit dates are able to be selected via the student's Orientation account when reservations open in mid-Fall 2025.
